Cancer Campaign - Bravery begins with you

FNB wanted to create a meaningful presence during Cancer Awareness months. October focuses on breast cancer, and November on prostate and testicular cancer. The request was not simply to remind people to get screened. It was to build a campaign that connects the bravery of screening with the importance of being financially ready if life ever changes.

Most awareness campaigns end at detection. FNB can go further by owning both moments in one story. Screening is the brave step people take for themselves. Being financially protected is the help FNB provides for the journey that may follow.

The campaign needed to feel human, respectful and grounded in real experience. It had to speak to fear without using fear. It had to honour the emotional weight of cancer while positioning FNB as a partner who stands with people through uncertainty.

We created a unified message that held the entire campaign: Bravery starts with you. Help begins with us.

This line shaped every touchpoint in the campaign.

Real stories
We filmed interviews with three people. A cancer survivor who walked through diagnosis and treatment while raising two children. A young woman who lost her father to cancer and continues to carry the financial weight of his care. And Matthew Green, an FNB Product Manager who explained how FNB’s insurance solutions offer the help that families need during the hardest moments. Their stories brought truth, emotion and connection to the work.

Human centred messaging
Emailers were rewritten for October and November, each crafted for FNB Personal, FNB Private and RMB. They encouraged screening and connected that action to financial readiness. The tone was warm, calm and supportive, speaking to the real fears people hold about cancer and the strength it takes to face them.

Product clarity
We highlighted how FNB’s insurance products help when treatment costs rise or when families need support. Critical Illness Cover, Gap Cover and the Health Cash Plan were positioned as practical ways to bring help into moments that feel overwhelming. The focus was always on how these products support real people in real situations.

A single emotional journey
Across film, email, digital and physical spaces, the campaign carried one message. Screening is brave. Being financially ready is help. And when these two meet, people feel supported, prepared and less alone.

The result is a campaign that honours personal courage and shows how practical help can change the way families face cancer.

The heart
behind the work

We believe meaningful work starts with listening.
Not to reply, but to understand what really matters.

We believe creativity has a responsibility:
to clarify, to connect, to move something forward.

We believe intention is louder than noise
and that the right idea doesn’t shout, it lands.

We believe people want honesty they can trust
and thinking they can feel.

We believe care is a strategy
and clarity is a kindness.

We believe work should make life easier, not heavier.
Simpler, not smaller. Braver, not busier.

We believe great partnership is built on shared purpose
and the courage to chase something better than expected.

This is the belief system that shapes the work
of anyone who chooses to create with meaning.
